my life so far: the speedy version

hi! i'm emmi.

i'm a Jesus loving, pretty crunchy, on-a-budget, first time mama & wife of an almost pastor.

​here's my life so far:

i grew up as a pastor's daughter in Brooklyn, New York. I have a twin sister named Esther (the bessst friend/person ever) as well as a younger brother & younger sister.

i went to college in Ann Arbor, MI (not U of M - look up Concordia University:).

my husband Conner and I met there and got married in 2019 at the fun ages of 20 & 21. my major was secondary education/english and after i graduated in 2020 (errr "graduated" - there was no ceremony), i taught middle schoolers (the BEST age) English and Literature.

after graduation we moved to Saint Louis, Missouri so that Conner could continue his education. we are Lutheran and in order to be a pastor he needs to complete four years after college at a seminary in either STL or Fort Wayne. we chose STL, and the rest is history!

​ we are currently on vicarage (long story & unique process to get here - i'll explain in a later blog post) in Warner Robins, GA. we will be here until July, 2023, when we will move back to Saint Louis for Conner's last year of school.

i have always wanted to be a mama & when we found out i was pregnant in 2021, I was so excited to get to stay home with my sweet girl. so, that's what i'm doing these days! Our daughter, Adalena Esther, was born on May 3, 2022: almost two weeks after her due date! i had an unmedicated birth at a birth center & i learned so much.

i have also realized that after being prepared for labor & birth but NOT for postpartum, that I am passionate about helping new moms get ready for their postpartum/newborn experience.

my favorite mom fuel is iced matcha & i jokingly call myself the matcha mama since i drink it so often.

other random fun facts about me:

+ i love Shakespeare & actually took the class twice in college, the second time just for fun!

+ i have loved photography since i was in high school- especially taking family photo sessions.

+ i had not been bowling until i went to college. there were better things to do than bowl in nyc!
